The cursor hops all over the place

The main problem I have with the app is that when I place the cursor in a certain position, for example to start deleting text in the event that I miss spelled a word, especially after dictating text to the application, the cursor will many times jump to the end of the paragraph or the end of the document, so when I start pressing backspace it will delete a different section of the document than intended. It happens more often than not. For this reason I primarily use the Notes application that was bundled with my iPhone. Either that or Microsoft word.
